There is sunshine in my soul today!

Did you see the challenge of More than Words of September? With the color; Yellow and the word; Sunshine. I like to challenge myself with the difficult color Yellow and this is what I came up with, hope you like my mixed media take on your moodboard this month!

What does the word SUNSHINE mean to me?
Whenever I'm feeling a little down, the sun always manages to cheer me up. Be it in the form of actual sunshine of friends. We all have our dark days, so by seeing the word Sunshine the first thing that came to mind was: "There is sunshine in my soul today!".

That is also why I chose this photo, you can see the sunshine in her eyes / her soul, especially because she covers the rest of the face with her hands. And you can also see the sunshine reflect on her skin and hands.

Let me tell you how I came to this result and what I used to make it;
I started this layout with a plain white sheet and on it I used some stamps of Prima, Finnabair, Tim Holtz, etc. to create a different background than the usually pre-printed sheets. Than I have drawn circles and stripes at the background, colored the circles with ink. I also added a paper doillie on both sides off the photo and on the edge of the paper. Than I found a flower stencils and added some yellow and the other one with black ink. After that I added some black gesso, yellow and green paint to the background. Distressed the photo borders. Made some nice dies-flowers with my cuttlebug and glued them next to the picture to give it a little dimension. I wrote the text on a piece of paper that I cutted in parts and added some yellow and green ink on it, before I glued them on the layout. For the finishing up I added some sequins to the layout.
